Alyssa Burley: Hi, this is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa's Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today's top Rancho Mesa news, brought to you by our Safety and Risk Management Network, StudioOne. Welcome back everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Client Communications Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today we'll be discussing the new updates to the company news feature in the SafetyOne platform. Megan, welcome to the show.
Megan Lockhart: Hi, thank you, Alyssa.
AB: So our clients have always been able to send company news through push notifications out to SafetyOne app users based on the projects in which they're assigned. So a SafetyOne administrator could send one message to everyone working on a specific project and a totally different message to everyone assigned to another project. Or send everybody the same push notification. So what changes have been made to the way that these push notifications are sent to users?
ML: Yeah, so as you mentioned, when a client sends out a company news notification, they can choose a project to send it out to or they can send them to everyone. But actually a new recipient role is now available specifically for receiving company notifications. So users who are assigned to this role won't have access to the mobile app or website. They won't even need to set up a login or password. They'll just receive all company news alerts they're assigned via email.
AB: Alright, so this is awesome and seems like it will really make things a lot easier for our clients to reach out to their employees with important information like high heat warnings or other emergencies regardless of whether or not they have access to the mobile app.
ML: Yes, definitely. And clients can add as many recipient roles as needed. Only when a user is switched to a different role, such as a trainee or an employee, that's when they will be sent an email to create their login information since that will now give them the access to the platform.
AB: All right, so what other changes should our clients know about with this recent update?
ML: Yeah, another change is that when a company news alert is sent out to a selected project, all users on the project, whether they have the mobile app or not, will receive it as an email as well. So those that have the app will get an immediate notification from the app, and then everyone will also get an email. And I think this really ensures that regardless, the information is getting to employees.
AB: Yeah, agreed. This is important, especially if someone has turned off the app notifications on their device, they'll also get that message in an email. Megan is there a way to schedule when these notifications are sent?
ML: Yeah, if clients want the company news notification to be sent out to everyone immediately, they should make sure to click the immediate notification. It's a little checkbox in the company news section of the platform. Otherwise, the email will deliver to users in boxes at 9am central time the following day.
AB: All right, that's good to know. So, for questions on how to use these notifications, clients can contact their client technology coordinator, and we also have a frequently asked questions regarding this update on the Rancho Mesa website and we'll include a link to the FAQs in the episode notes. Megan, thank you so much for joining me in StudioOne.
ML: Of course, thank you.
