Alyssa Burley: Hi, this is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa's Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today's top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our Safety and Risk Management Network, StudioOne. Welcome back, everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Client Communications Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. As the OSHA recordkeeping submission deadline quickly approaches, we’re going to give everyone a refresher on what companies need to know about submitting the data. Megan, welcome to the show.

Megan Lockhart: Thanks for having me, Alyssa.

AB: Of course. So, it is that time of year again. As companies review their work-related injuries and illnesses from the past year, they must electronically submit the Form 300A Summary data to Fed OSHA by March 2nd, 2024. So Megan, what else should listeners know about these submission requirements?

ML: Yeah so as that March 2nd deadline to submit the 300A comes up, this week actually, companies also need to post the 300A in the workplace in a space where employees can see it, from February 1st through April 30th. And, companies with 100 or more employees in high-hazard industries will also need to submit information from their 300 and 301. This is their Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses and their Injury and Illness Incident Report.

AB: Alright, and that’s really important to know. And if listeners with 100 or more employees are not sure if they are in a high-hazard industry and required to submit the additional 300 and 301 data, OSHA has a list of industries on their website. So, check that out. How do companies submit the required information to OSHA?

ML: Employers can electronically submit their injury and illness information via OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application website. One thing you should know though, OSHA changed their login format as of January 2023, so those who haven’t logged in since last year will need to create a new Login.gov account. They can just use their same email address, to access the application. But they will need to make a new account. And they can create a new account on the OSHA website.

AB: Ok, and Rancho Mesa clients can use the RM365 HRAdvantage™ portal to track their incidents and generate their OSHA 300A Summary and generate a .csv file which they can use to upload their incident information to OSHA’s website.

ML: Yes, very true, that’s a great tool we offer.

AB: Well, we’ve covered some great information for our listeners. Megan, is there anything else you’d like to add?

ML: Yeah, I’ll just also remind everyone that OSHA provides a detailed pdf document with all the forms 300, 300A, and 301 and instructions on how to fill them out.

AB: Yes, that’s a great reminder and we’ll include a link to that and all the other resources we discussed today in the episode notes. Megan thank you for joining me in StudioOne.

ML: Of course, thanks Alyssa.
