Alyssa Burley: Hi! This is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa’s Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today’s top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our safety and risk management network, StudioOne™. Welcome back, everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Media Communications and Client Services Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, we’re going to discuss some of the topics that will be covered in our upcoming workshop, Navigating Prevailing Wage on California Public Works Projects. Megan, welcome to the show.
Megan Lockhart: Happy to be here, Alyssa.
AB: Prevailing wage can be a challenging topic for contractors when it comes to public works projects in California, regardless of the industry and experience. Megan, what are some of the topics that contractors will be interested in learning about in the upcoming workshop?
ML: So, attendees will learn how to select the proper wage determinations, complete and file the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) 140 and 142, complete the certified payroll report and fringe benefit statement, comply with DIR/eCPR filing requirements, and maintain the documents that are required to support a proper audit trail.
AB: It certainly seems like there is a lot that contractors need to know when it comes to working on public works projects. Kimberly Tobin from Contractors Prevailing Wage Insurance Services will be able to expand on these topics regarding prevailing wage at the workshop. So Megan, if listeners want to attend the Navigating Prevailing Wage on California Public Works Projects Workshop- that is a tongue twister- how can they register?
ML: Listeners can go to ranchomesa.com and click on “Workshops and Webinars.” Then, click the “Register Online” button for the workshop.
AB: Great, and we’ll include a link in the episode notes where listeners can register.
