StudioOne™, Rancho Mesa’s media productions team, is very excited to announce the publishing of the Safety and Risk Management podcast network’s 100th episode!
In January 2020, the podcast originally launched as a way for industry professionals to share safety and risk management knowledge with their peers. What started out as the release of one to two episodes a month, soon became two episodes a week. StudioOne broadened their audience and began recording weekly industry news insights, law updates, and episodes to get to know the Rancho Mesa team and industry partners.
The 100th episode is close to Rancho Mesa’s hearts because it discusses how the podcast came to life, the motivation to start interviewing guests, how we are able to record, edit, and release content, and even includes some fun behind the scenes content.

On March 4th, 2021, Gary Johnston, Chief Resilience Officer for the County of San Diego, Office of Emergency Services (OES), joined Rancho Mesa to host a live COVID-19 Update and Q&A Session webinar. Gary works closely with County and external partners to engage key stakeholders, build consensus, and implement recommendations to build the County’s overall resilience, making him a great source for information.
Following Gary’s presentation on the County’s current status, vaccinations and reopening, attendees asked a variety of questions specific to their needs and overall curiosity. Cal/OSHA Covid-19 Prevention Plan Webinar with Carmen Cisneros

January 21st, 2021, Rancho Mesa was joined by Cal/OSHA San Diego Consultation Branch Area Manager, Carmen Cisneros, to learn about the standards set in place by Cal/OSHA’s COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards.

January 21st, 2021, Rancho Mesa was joined by Cal/OSHA San Diego Consultation Branch Area Manager, Carmen Cisneros, to learn about the standards set in place by Cal/OSHA’s COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards.
A wide variety of topics, based around the pandemic, were covered. Face mask requirements, prevention plan requirements, and recording and reporting standards were just a few of the areas addressed during the webinar.
A good source to bookmark for questions is Cal/OSHA’s FAQ page. Since questions are always being added, they have now provided a date at the bottom of the page to show when it was last updated.
The live webinar lasted just over an hour. Cal/OSHA has a 4-hour webinar available that covers the information in greater detail. The webinars are free and you can register on the Cal/OSHA Consultation website.

Providing affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to over 270,000 uninsured, low-income and medically underserved San Diegans, Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) has been named Nonprofit of the Year.
According to The Nonprofit Institute’s State of Nonprofits & Philanthropy in San Diego 2019 Annual Report, the region has 11,523 nonprofits; 31.5% provide human services and 10.1% are in the health sector. Only one in the district has been chosen as Nonprofit of the Year. FHCSD’s extraordinary long-term commitment to community health is exactly the reason they have earned such a prestigious award.
“Family Health Centers of San Diego is a tremendous nonprofit under normal circumstances, and amid the pandemic, they stepped up even more to make sure underserved communities have access to testing and health care services,” said Assemblymember Todd Gloria. “I’m grateful to FHCSD’s entire team of doctors, nurses, and medical professionals. I am proud to name them as the 78th Assembly District’s Nonprofit of the Year.”
FHCSD operates 49 sites across San Diego County. Their facilities include 22 primary care clinics, 10 behavioral health facilities, eight dental clinics, three vision clinics, three mobile medical units, two mobile counseling centers, an outpatient substance use treatment program, and a pharmacy.
“I am extremely proud of the work our medical staff and support teams do to ensure all San Diegans receive critically needed and affordable health care services every day,” said FHCSD CEO, Fran Butler-Cohen. “We are honored to be recognized by Assemblymember Todd Gloria and the California Association of Nonprofits as a Nonprofit of the Year for our work.”

Do you know the difference between the Enforcement Branch and Consultation Branch of Cal/OSHA? On January 22, 2020, Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. hosted a workshop led by Carmen Cisneros, Area Manager from the Cal/OSHA Consultation Services Branch in San Diego.

Do you know the difference between the Enforcement Branch and Consultation Branch of Cal/OSHA? On January 22, 2020, Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. hosted a workshop led by Carmen Cisneros, Area Manager from the Cal/OSHA Consultation Services Branch in San Diego. The workshop was held at the Boys & Girls Club of East County and covered how Cal/OSHA’s consultation branch can be a helpful resource to improve workplace safety.
Carmen suggests any business with an Experience Modification (XMOD) over 125, contact Cal/OSHA for a free onsite consultation. Have the consultation held at a jobsite to ensure you get accurate suggested improvements.
In addition to improving workplace safety, requesting a consultation from Cal/OSHA may assist your business in becoming eligible for the Golden Gate Program. Contact Cal/OSHA Consultation for more details.
Laws and guidelines will continue to change. The Cal/OSHA Consultation Branch is there to help make your job sites safer and hopefully assist in avoiding a visit from the Enforcement Branch.
