Alyssa Burley: Hi, this is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa's Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today's top Rancho Mesa news, brought to you by our Safety and Risk Management Network, StudioOne.

Welcome back everyone, my guest is Brenda Khalil, Client Technology Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, we are going to discuss the importance of using up-to-date risk management tools for in your organization. Brenda, welcome to the show.

Brenda Khalil: Thank you for having me, Alyssa.

AB: Of course. Now, managing risk is vital to the daily operations of any organization. Accident investigations, safety inspections, and training all contribute to a safe workplace and the business or organization running smoothly. So, why is it important to be using risk management tools that keep up with the current technology?

BK: Of course, as you mentioned, there are so many factors that contribute to a safe workplace. Data needs to be collected after an incident, safety inspections and observations must be documented, and employees must stay up to date on training topics for their industry.

Most organizations utilize tools that assist them in maintaining their business operations. And policies, laws, and technology are constantly changing. So, as businesses adapt to these changes, their risk management tools should too.

AB: Right. And, we’ve seen this where toolbox talk safety content gets stale and is outdated, or the method in which the information is distributed is outdated and not very efficient.

BK: Exactly, and this can happen when the platforms that are used don’t have routine updates. This includes updating the training content and functionality.

AB: So, what is Rancho Mesa doing to ensure that our clients have access to up to date risk management tools?

BK: Well, we want our clients to have the best tools that are easy to use in order to ensure a safe workplace and mitigate risk. That’s why SafetyOne™ is updated with the most current safety training information, as well as design features for the best user experience.

AB: We think it’s important that we’re always improving SafetyOne. So, if our listeners are using a platform that isn’t adapting to the changes in their industry or advancements in technology, it might be time to look at other options. A perfect example is when we were developing our landscape-specific content. The old content that has been available to the industry only referenced how to use gas-powered equipment safely. We’re incorporating battery-powered equipment, too for those states that are phasing out the gas-powered tools.

BK: That’s right. We also want to ensure our clients’ needs are met and their jobs are made easier. So, if we hear a request for a possible improvement, we will certainly consider it.

AB: Brenda, if listeners have questions about how they can utilize the tools offered in SafetyOne, how can they contact you?

BK: Clients can contact me at bkhalil@ranchomesa.com or call me directly at 619-486-6562.

AB: Brenda, thanks for joining me in StudioOne.

BK: Thank you for having me!
