Alyssa Burley: Hi! This is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa’s Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today’s top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our safety and risk management network, StudioOne™. Welcome back, everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Media Communications and Client Services Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, she’s going to tell us about the new field types that are available in the SafetyOne™ mobile forms. Megan, welcome to the show.
Megan Lockhart: Yeah, thanks for having me.
AB: For our listeners who aren’t familiar with our SafetyOne™ app, will you briefly explain what the mobile forms are and how they’re used?
ML: Sure. SafetyOne™ is Rancho Mesa’s proprietary safety mobile app and website. Within the mobile app, users in the field can complete mobile forms. These could be used for collecting information about an employee injury, a daily jobsite report, checking out equipment, timecard tracking – the uses are limitless. Since our clients can use the standard mobile forms from our library or create their own custom mobile forms, adding these new field types is really exciting. This allows our clients to now collect even more data.
AB: To help our listeners picture what type of data can be collected through the mobile forms, what fields are currently available?
ML: Well, prior to the latest release, the mobile forms could collect data like, addresses, dates, numbers, time, text, signatures, sketches, photos, and multiple and single selection options. So, we thought we had all the different types of data covered.
AB: So, what other options could there possibly be that we didn’t already have?
ML: Well, feedback from our clients showed that they’d also like specific field types for dimensions, mass, temperature and currency. Previously, if there wasn’t a specific field type, our clients could use the text or number field to collect temperature, dimensions, mass or currency. By adding these new field types, in the mobile app, our clients’ employees will be able to specify the units when entering dimensions, like feet, inches, miles, square feet, meters and more. When they enter the mass, they can choose metric ton, kilogram, grams or pounds. And for the temperature fields, they can select Fahrenheit, Celsius, or Kelvin. The currency fields will give options for the US Dollar, Euros, Swiss Franc, British Pound and Canadian Dollar.
AB: I’m so excited that we’re able to offer these new options to our clients. So, for those who have created custom mobile forms, consider changing out the field types from just a text or number field to one of these new field types so that your employees can select the appropriate units when they’re entering dimensions, mass, temperature, and currency. Megan, if listeners have questions about the SafetyOne™ app, who should they contact?
ML: Yeah, our clients can reach out to their client services coordinator, or anyone at Rancho Mesa and we’ll put you in touch with the right person.
